Gary Rohanâs last-second goal sent Sydney into the AFLâs top eight for the first time in 300 days and ensured a one-point win over a gallant Essendon after a wasteful night at the SCG.
Rohan snared a one-handed mark on the goal line in the dying seconds, and went back to slot the set shot in front of 34,575 fans who thought theyâd watched the Swans throw away their sixth win of the season after a brilliant Essendon comeback.

Lance Franklin missed a shot after the half-time siren but it matters little as the Bombers were the far better side in that second term running in numbers and passing with relish.
Kyle Langford has two goals for Essendon while Zach Merrett has 18 touches and Darcy Parrish has 16 touches.
Callum Mills (18 touches) and Jake Lloyd (14 touches) have had plenty of the football but the Swans havenât made good use of their possessions and it has hurt them dearly.

Dylan Clarke has popped up in the forward line and kicked a valuable goal for the Bombers who have now kicked three goals in a row.
Clarke pulled in a strong mark and was screaming out after his goal - the Bombers continue to look good in this first half.
Dons lead 41-28 with four mins left in Q2.
This is turning into a nightmare for Brisbane, who look anything like a premiership hope on this dreadful performance.
Halfway through the third quarter they are 47 points behind the Hawks, who have barely been able to buy a win in recent weeks.
Joe Daniher and Charlie Cameron have barely been sighted, but they are hardly alone in what has been so far a very disappointing effort by the Queenslanders with aspirations for September success.
Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti hasnât had a huge impact on this match until the last few minutes when he won a free kick after earning front spot in a marking contest.
McDonald-Tipungwuti then went back and kicked the goal. Valuable goal for Dons.
The Bombers lead 35-26 with 12 mins to go in Q2.

Kyle Langford has made an impact on the first half kicking his second goal, this time from close range, after the Bombers surged forward.
Langfordâs goal has Essendon back in the lead.
Bombers up 29-26 with 13 mins left in Q2.
Tom Hickey has put the Swans in front continuing an exceptional season with the Swans.
The big ruckman just made it over the line with his kick as Essendon attempted to knock the ball back into play after it had gone over the goal line.
Swans lead 25-22 with 16 mins left in Q2.
The Swans have come out firing to start this second term and Sam Reid won a free-kick in the goal-square and then kicked the goal.
The Swans are looking good at centre bounces, now they need to win more contests around the ground.
Bombers lead 21-19 with 18 mins left in Q2.
The Bombers have kept the Swans in their rear-view mirror that term running and moving the ball with precision while their forwards have handled business when presented with chances to kick goals.
Lance Franklin has a goal as he continues to chase down the 1000-goal milestone while Tom Papley has been his vibrant self.

Brisbane coach Chris Fagan gave his lacklustre Lions a bit of a rev up at the first change - but the results were only mixed.
Yes, the Queenslanders showed a lot more intent and were harder at the ball in the second period.
But alas for them they could not make their extra effort show much on the scoreboard.
They did kick the first two goals of the quarter and it looked as though they might be able to get on a roll, but it was a hope that was quickly stubbed out by the Hawks.
There was a feelgood moment when Nakia Cockatoo, making his first start for the Lions and his first start for anyone in over 1200 days, kicked a goal, but it could not kick start a revival.
Instead the Hawks steadied, kept their more fancied rivals at arms length, and went to the main break 24 points clear.
