You're in luckâ"because it's a holiday weekend, it's a good time to buy a new mattress. A lot of the base prices of our favorite mattresses have gone up in the past few months, but we still think these deals are solid.

Our Favorite Mattress DealsHelix Midnight Luxe Hybrid
Photograph: Helix SleepAll the prices listed in this roundup are for queen-size mattresses.
â Top Pickâ"Helix Midnight Luxe Hybrid Mattress for $1,749 ($200 off) + 2 PillowsThe luxurious Helix still takes our top spotâ"it's the only one that pretty much put our reviews director, Jeffrey Van Camp, to sleep in a loud, bright room. Its cushion top and medium firmness is good for side, back, and stomach sleepers. Unfortunately, that luxury doesn't come cheap, even when discounted.
Use code LDAY200 for $200 off $1,750 or more; LDAY150 if you're spending $1,250 or more; or LDAY100 for $100 off $600 or more. You'll get two pillows with your purchase.
Allswell Hybrid
Photograph: Allswellâ Best Bargainâ"Allswell Hybrid Mattress for $319 ($56 off)Note: Allswell's website is having issues at the moment. Check back later to score this deal.
Use code LABORDAY2021 for 15 percent off. The Allswell Hybrid is shockingly goodâ"not just good for being cheap, but genuinely so. It feels expensive, and its individually wrapped springs prevent motion transfer.
We also like the Allswell Luxe Hybrid for $574 ($101 off), which has three extra layers of foam and a plusher top cover, and the Supreme Hybrid for $837 ($148 off). The latter feels like a $2,000 mattress. We've seen all three discounted more, but we think they're all still worth it.
More Mattress Deals (Coils + Foam)Hybrid mattresses are supportive, with hundreds of individually wrapped springs sandwiched between layers of foam. Their coils help give them the best of both worlds, with the airflow and bounce of traditional box-spring mattresses and the comfort of memory foam.
Leesa Hybrid
Photograph: LeesaLeesa Hybrid Mattress for $1,549 ($300 off) + 2 PillowsThe Leesa Hybrid is our runner-up, and though it's not as luxe as the Helix, we think it's one of the best out there. It has a silky, diamond-textured cover and a soft yet firm, pressure-relieving feel. It gently hugs your body, for a price.
Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid Mattress for $843 ($281 off)This discount should auto-add to your cart, but use code LABORDAY25 if it doesn't. We've seen this one for 30 percent off, but it's still a good deal if you want a firmer mattress. (WIRED reviews director Jeffrey Van Camp says he would opt for medium next time over the firmest option.)
Birch Natural Mattress
Photograph: BirchBirch Natural Mattress for $1,299 ($400 off) + 2 PillowsUse code LDAY400 at checkout. This price is the same sale we typically see, but the base price has risen some. Birch is an eco-friendly mattress made by Helix, the company behind our favorite mattress. It's made of natural latex and wool, and free of polyurethane-based foams and chemicals.
Casper Hybrid Mattress for $1,101 ($195 off)Casper is well-known, and its hybrid mattress is great. It's comfier than the brand's all-foam option; the coils give it more spring, airflow, and support. We think there are better options out there, but if you aren't sure what to get, get this. It rarely disappoints.
DreamCloud Hybrid for $999 ($599 off) + 2 Pillows, Sheets, and Mattress ProtectorThis luxury mattress is an honorable mention. It has a thick pillow top that's very comfortable, similar to the Helix Midnight Luxe and Allswell Supreme.
Cooling OptionsBedJet 3
BedJetMaybe you don't need a brand new mattress. Maybe you just need to feel a little cooler to drift off to sleep. We've tested and like these two options.
Eight Sleep Pod Pro Cover for $1,720 ($75 off)This is very, very expensive, and the discount is small. It still might be worthwhile if you often feel too hot at night. It changes its temperature to match your body, and it can also track your sleep. Reviews director Jeffrey Van Camp says the top isn't super soft at first, but he got used to it and enjoys the temperature regulation.
BedJet 3 Climate Comfort Sleep System for $399 ($170 off)This is another cooling option (8/10, WIRED Recommends) that'll take up more space in your bedroom, but it's significantly more affordable. It requires a hose going under your blanket, but it blows cool or hot air on your body as you sleep. It regularly dips to this price during major sale events.
All-Foam Mattress DealsMost bed-in-a-box mattresses are made of several layers of memory foam, in a variety of densities and consistencies. They tend to offer better body contouring but can feel too sink-ey or unsupportive if they aren't designed well. We prefer hybrid mattresses, but the following all-foam versions are all good options.
Layla Two-Sided Mattress
Photograph: LaylaLayla Dual-Firmness Foam Mattress for $949 ($150 off)Ordering a mattress without trying it can be tricky if you aren't sure what kind of firmness you need. Layla gives you the option of sleeping on a medium-firm side or medium-soft side, so you can pick the perfect one once, or as often as needed. It also has a cooling layer of foam infused with gel. Plus, it's made in the US.
Nectar Sleep Nectar Mattress for $899 ($399 off) + 2 Pillows, Sheets, and Mattress ProtectorThis classic, hugging memory foam mattress is a good pick for side sleepers, but like some others on this list, its base price has been raised recently. It's a classic memory foam mattress that will conform to your body but won't let you sink into it too deeply.
Mattress Firm Tulo 10-inch Medium Mattress for $440 ($460 off)The Tulo mattress is cheaper than most before the discount, and it's a good option for people who don't want a hybrid mattress. You can choose between plush, firm, medium, and medium-firm, as well as a few thickness options (the price above is for the 10-inch medium).
The Purple Mattress for $1,199 ($100 off)You might be familiar with Purple product's Jell-O-like feel. It's cooling and airy, and very comfy to sleep on it. But it's not quite as comfortable as a hybrid mattress. Purple's hybrid option is $800 more.
Casper Standard Foam Mattress for $931 ($164 off)We prefer Casper's hybrid mattress, but this all-foam one is also discounted if that's what you prefer.
Leesa Original Mattress for $949 ($200 off) + 2 PillowsLike the Casper above, we prefer Leesa's hybrid mattress. However, this one is still a comfy option if you'd like to save a few bucks from this brand.
